Greg Pike

Who the hell is this guy?

I’m a blogger. Obviously.

I post things that I think my friends will enjoy, I rant, and I rail on companies who neglect good customer service and praise those that do a great job. I commend people who have really done something special in my eyes (Heroes) and gossip local news and politics.

Local for me being Newfoundland and Labrador.

I care about

  • The web
  • Customer service
  • Cool tech
  • Some environment issues
  • Ultimate frisbee
  • Outdoors activities
  • Newfoundland

After an interesting political discussion I asked Peter how much he could bench.

The quick resume

I have letters after my name. “Dot CA”

Haha. No, seriously, BBA. I graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

I have been accepted into the Master of Technology Management program at the Marine Institute, but I have not yet started the program.

Currently I work as the Web Editor for the Marine Institute. I coordinate everything for MI with respect to the web. It is a great place to work.

I am also involved with the evolving People Are Staring brand.

Looking to get some cool web stuff done for your company? Why not listen to me pitch myself 😉

I am a freelancer and I operate by the name Activelink. I am just diving back into the realm of freelancing after working a couple years in the private sector (where moonlighting is a conflict of interest).

I do virtually anything involved with the web. Design, development, internet marketing, social media, UI planning, search engine optimization, general problem solving.

My father, Cecil Lake, was born on Oderin island. The Lake family has returned to the island on two different occassions. My grandparents are burried in the cemetary on top of the hill. We are planning on returning soon to cut the big tree growing in front of grandfathers head stone. Our trips to the island were after resettlement. I enjoyed your pictures. I have similar pictures taken on my visits.

I stumbled upon your site today while googling Star Wars Hoth stuff. I was half tempted to recreate a Hoth battle in the snow outside with my kids and the Star Wars action figure.

Your site is awesome. From a child of the, gulp, 70s and 80s (I’m so old) and also a web content manager.
